Start by preparing the night before…

Oven: See the Baking Soda Paste Overnight Recipe

Walls: Use either diluted Orange Power Cleaner or diluted All-Purpose Cleanser, working your way around, spray and immediately wipe with a microfibre cloth.

Windows: If you only have a small area of windows to clean we recommend using Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner, for bigger areas use diluted Sonett All-Purpose Cleanser and wipe with a microfibre cloth that won’t leave lint for streak free clean.

Countertops and appliances: Spray all countertops and appliances, both large and small, with Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner, then wipe with a microfibre cloth.

Rubbish bin: Sprinkle a teaspoon of baking soda in the bottom to neutralise smells and add a drop of Orange Power Cleaner. Add hot water. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes, then swish it around and give it a scrub. Rinse with clean water. Use paper towels to dry or air dry upside down.

Dishwasher: To clean, remove any baskets and racks. Spray the interior of the dishwasher with diluted Orange Power Cleaner or diluted All-Purpose Cleanser. Wipe down door, sides and bottom using a clean cloth or sponge. For a thorough rinse, run the empty machine on its highest temperature setting with the addition of 1/2 C white vinegar.

Waste disposal: Clean by running about 12 ice cubes through it with cold running water. Next, cut a lemon into 4 and pop it into the disposal. To clean the underside of the rubber lip, wash with the scrubbing side of a white vinegar-soaked Eco Sponge.

Microwave: Place 1/2 C water and 1/2 C white vinegar into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for several minutes to a rolling boil. Allow microwave to cool, wipe away grime with paper towels.

Cabinets and drawers: Clear out cabinets and drawers one at a time, and clean with Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner and paper towels or the sponge side of your Eco Sponge.

Pantry: Remove all food from pantry, clean up and organise. Spray all surfaces, doors and shelves with Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner, wipe with a microfibre cloth or the sponge side of Eco Sponge.

Fridge: Clear shelves and drawers. Wipe shelves with Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner. Wash drawers in lukewarm, soapy water with Dishwashing Liquid Lemon or Calendula. Rinse, dry with paper towels or air dry and return to fridge. Clean grooves, using Multi Surface & Glass Cleaner with an old toothbrush to remove stubborn particles. Wipe outside of door with damp microfibre cloth.

Floors: Vacuum any rugs and then hang them out on the washing line for a dose of UV and fresh air. Mop the floors with diluted Floor Mopping Fluid or All-Purpose Cleanser.

Using eco friendly, skin friendly, synthetic chemical free products in your kitchen is the best choice to ensure your kitchen environment is friendly. No unnecessary synthetic chemical residues is particularly important in food preparation areas.

What to do about limescale deposits?

Decalcifier is to be used wherever heavy limescale deposit is encountered on fittings, cookware, coffee makers, dishwashers etc.

Use undiluted: on fittings where the Decalcifier cannot be heated – allow it to act for a few minutes, depending on the thickness of the limescale, then thoroughly rinse off with clear water.

Use diluted: on cookware and for decalcifying machines – where Decalcifier may be heated and is therefore more effective rapidly.

Kettles: Add approx. 100 ml of Decalcifier to 500ml water, heat up to approx. 60 °C, allow it to act for 20-30 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly.

Coffeemakers: Fill 200ml of Decalcifier and 800ml of water into the water container and descale according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Afterwards run fresh water until the water is clear.

Dishwasher: Add 1 litre of Decalcifier to the main washing cycle of the longest programme (once the pre-washing cycle is finished!) – with or without dishes. Let the programme run until the end.
